Program
“I have lost my heart in Budapest” – magical melodies in the Rumbach Street Synagogue is a premium quality concert theatre series in the 150-year-old building, which will be open to the public again in its original splendour.
The concert series has the undisguised aim of expressing respect and gratitude for the musical heritage of composers who, in addition to success and fame, have shared a typical Central European, Hungarian-Jewish fate.
The performance includes famous and popular works from operettas such as The Csardas Princess, Countess Maritza, Ball at the Savoy, Gypsy Love, The Bajadere and the film scores of Miklós Rózsa, three-time Oscar-winning composer of the films Ben-Hur and Quo Vadis.
Miklós Brodszky’s famous composition “Be my love” , composed for the film “The Toast of New Orleans” , will be also performed.
Not to be missed is Rezső Seress’ iconic song “Gloomy Sunday”, this time in the language of contemporary dance.
The composers are Emmerich Kálmán, Franz Lehár, Paul Abrahám Nicholas Brodszky, Miklós Rózsa, Rezső Seress, Walter Jurmann.
Concert starts at 7:00 PM
Duration: 90 minutes, concert in one part without intermission
